Battle of the Luke’s resumes on Night 1

The 2024 season will begin at Cardiff’s Utilita Arena on February 1, with the opening night’s quarter-finals featuring a blockbuster showdown between World Champion Humphries and teenage sensation Littler. Luke Humphries, the world number one, will make his fully-fledged Premier League debut against the World Youth Champion. Reigning champion Michael van Gerwen will face 2023 World Champion Michael Smith in the evening’s third quarter-final, as the Dutch superstar begins his bid for a record-extending eighth Premier League crown. Meanwhile, in the opening match of the tournament, former finalists Rob Cross and Peter Wright will go head-to-head in a battle of the World Champions.

World champion Luke Humphries picks up his first nightly win of the 2024 premier league of darts campaign. The semi-final against Rob Cross produced sensational darts as Humphries averaged an incredible 113.87 to Rob Cross’ 108. As usual Peter Wright turned up with a different set of darts adding fuel to the confusion of fans asking what darts does Peter Wright use. Interestingly enough the question of what darts does Luke Littler use took an interesting turn with the darts kid starting the night with his newly released loadout darts but switching mid-match against Michael Smith, briefly reverting to his Luke Littler Gen1 darts setup in defeat. First signs of panic from Littler who has always looked comfortable with both dart setups to date.

Why isn’t Luke Littler wearing BetMGM logo

People might well ask why isn’t Luke Littler wearing BetMGM logo in the premier league darts? Due to his age (yes it is hard to believe the darts kid is only just 17 years of age when it starts), and UK gambling laws, Luke Littler isn’t allowed to wear the sponsor logo of a gambling company. This was the same case for Littler and Owen Bates during the PDC world championships.

Luke Littler is wearing the logo of the Motor Neurone Disease Association in the 2024 Premier league darts.
