With Luke Littler mania having reached fever pitch thanks to his winning of the PDC World Championships dartboards will be appearing in just about every self respecting venue. However, we have all had that time we wished we had a trusted setup with us and tell ourselves never leave home without your darts! Lugging a set of darts around with us in a case hasn’t always been a good option due to the bulkiness of the kit. Now you don’t need to worry as darts manufacturer Loxley darts has the solution, the 95% Tungsten Loxley Acorn darts!
Never leave home without your darts!
There is nothing worse than ending up in a pub or club and seeing a dartboard hanging in the corner but not having a trusted dart setup to hand. We know we are going to have a throw (we dart players just can’t resist can we?) despite the fact we are certain to get given 3 random mismatched darts by the friendly bar person. The stems will be warped, the flights will be battered and the points will be blunt but we will still feel we can take on all of the locals like a boss.
Each and every time we remind ourselves afterwards to never leave home without your darts but when it comes to lugging our dart case around with us we simply don’t do it. Now it appears we don’t have to worry about stuffing our work backpack with our setup and thus foregoing lunchbox space. Loxley darts have recently launch the Acorn, a 95% tungsten dart that fits in your pocket, yes you read that right, they fit in your pocket!

Darts on the go
Simply having a set of darts you can get used to at home but which is easy enough to carry around for that impromptu game of darts on the go is a clever bit of marketing from Loxley (I have ordered a set of these beauties so it clearly works). I normally throw a 23g set of darts and have 2 full setups in my case along with spare flights, stems and a dart sharpener and simply only take it out and about with me when going to a darts match. Waiting for a free table at my local pool club is when I always end up having a throw with the knackered and mismatched sets of house darts I mention earlier, frustrating but I still do it. These Acorn darts look like they will be my saviour!
Shortest tungsten darts?
The Acorn appear to be the shortest Tungsten darts ever produced. Many years ago Unicorn darts produced a dart set called the Dum-dums which were previously the shortest tungsten darts for sale. The Dum-dums came in at 30,2mm in length and as such are 4.2mm longer than the Loxley Acorn darts.
Who will these darts suit best?
Being such a short barrel it is safe to say that those that prefer a front loaded dart will much prefer them over someone who prefers a different weight distribution. A front gripper will also have a disctinct advantage over a mid or rear grip player.
That being said if you were to go along the lines of the Luke Humphries dart setup and attached the Joust XL stems to the barrels this would add considerable length to the setup.
