Legend of the sport of darts and aruguably the best player to pick up a dart Phil Taylor won the first ever PDC players championship event, and Wayne Mardle (in September 2004 as per statistician FEBSData on X ) went before him.
Littler hit his second PDC 9 dart finish after hitting one in the Bahrain Masters in his L32 game against Italian debutant Turetta and wired D12 for another 144 point checkout in his very next match against Cameron Menzies. Littler’s average of 109.64 per 3 darts thrown was a new personal best and the combined average of 221.35 in the final against Ryan Searle was a massive increase on the highest ever PC final.

Searle was cruising at 6-2 up in the first to 8 final but failed to get the job done missing 7 match darts. Throwing the heaviest set of darts on the circuit with ease throughout his career, Searle seemed weighed down by the burden of a first Eurotour victory being in his own hands. Schindler took full advantage and dominated the deciding leg of the match hitting double 16 with his third match dart with Searle not yet on a 3 dart finish
