PDC darts European tour explained with schedule, prize money and all other key information you need to know. The PDC European Tour (also known as the Euro Tour) is a series of tournaments organized by the PDC in conjunction with PDC Europe. Taking place in various cities in Europe, these 3 day events form a great opporuntity for some players not on the main tour as well as offering fans to experience the excitement attending PDC tournaments has to offer.
Huge boost to a player’s world ranking
The results of the European Tour counts towards the PDC Order of Merit which forms the darts world rankings, and the Pro Tour Order of merit which gives the top players access to major tournaments like the World Championships, Grand Prix and Matchplay. The currently the prize money for each of the 14 events in the 2025 season is £175,000, with £30,000 going to the winner and £12,000 to the runner up. All qualifiers are guarenteed £1,500.
6 time winner and 6 time runner up on the Euro tour Michael Smith will be targetting a good european darts season as he aims to climb back up the rankings
How players qualify for a Euro Tour tournament
The 2025 season qualification criteria has caused controversy among players due to rule changes which severely impacts the chances of players breaking into the world’s top 32. The changes have meant that the top 16 players in the world are placed straight into the 2nd round, and whilst losing their match means prize money won’t be added to their rankings, being gifted entry into round 2 of every tournament will see the rich get richer, and all of the remaining 112 players have to play a qualifier of some description to match that.
With 48 darts players in each event the qualification criteria are as follows:
16 places go to the top 16 of the PDC Order of Merit and enter in round 2.
16 places go to the top 16 of the PDC ProTour Order of Merit (excluding players already qualified via the PDC Order of Merit).
10 places go to the winners the Tour Card Holder Qualifiers in which up to 112 players compete
4 players from Host Nation Qualifiers. These qualifying tournaments are open to darts players from the country in which the European Tour event is taking place.
1 place goes to the winner of the Nordic & Baltic Associate Member Qualifiers. This is a qualifying tournament in which darts players from Scandinavia or the Baltic states take part.
1 place goes to the winner of the East European Associate Member Qualifiers. This is a qualifying tournament in which darts players from Eastern Europe participate.
Associate members are non-PDC tour card holders and players pay an entry fee into the qualifying tournaments.
Top 32 dart players qualify for the PDC European Championship
The top 32 players collecting the most prize money during the 14 PDC European Tour events qualify for the season ending European Championship tournament. The 2025 European Darts Championship will be held on October 23 in Dortmund, Germany.
